A series of Challenge matches were played at King’s Hall, Belfast from 1949-50 between the Belfast Eagles and Balmoral Wasps & Harlandic Wolves. The Balmoral Wasps won their series with Belfast Eagles 2-1, and Harlandic Wolves won their match with Belfast Eagles. These were the first Ice Hockey matches played in Ireland since 1940.
